Description
The Angel is Andover’s oldest inn, commissioned in 1445 when Winchester College entered a contract with Richard Holnerst and John Harding to build an inn on the site following a disastrous fire which destroyed much of the town. All the records survive in the College archives and the Angel (despite the brick cladding) is one of the best half-timbered buildings in Hampshire.
